The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin sat out the team’s practice on Wednesday with a sprained ankle. Thus his status is uncertain for this Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants.

The three-time Pro Bowl receiver sprained his right ankle in the second quarter of Arizona’s 27-3 victory at over the Seahawks Seattle last Sunday. But he was able to play again in the third quarter and looked comfortable while coming out with his team. X-rays after the game showed no broken bones.

“He’s doing all right,” Coach Ken Whisenhunt said. “He’s further along than I thought he would be as far as the rehab of the ankle is going, but those ankles you never know, so we’ll see how it progresses during the week.”

If Boldin is to miss this Sunday’s game, Steve Breaston is most likely to be seen in his Cardinals jersey at the No. 2 receiver spot and take over Boldin’s job because he has done that several times when Boldin was injured. Besides he had a record of seven passes for 77 yards and a touchdown in the game against the Seattle Seahawks.
